Multi NutriPowder Breakfast Smoothie

Most of us are aware of the importance of a good breakfast. As your first meal, it can have a significant impact on your whole day! If you reach for something quick and convenient like cereal, a breakfast bar, or a croissant, you are likely to feel hungry and struggle with energy and focus an hour later, hence making you reach for either a cup of coffee or a sugary snack to get your energy up. On the other hand, if you have a filling, protein and fibre rich meal, you will feel fuller for longer, experience fewer cravings, and be able to focus better. Indeed, research shows that increasing fibre intake, especially prebiotic fibre (e.g. inulin), can have a positive impact on balancing various hormones involved in metabolism, including insulin (responsible for blood glucose balance)[i] and potentially leptin (satiety hormone) too.[ii]

It would be lovely for us all to be able to sit down and enjoy a daily home-cooked breakfast, such as a healthy ‘fry-up’ providing poached organic, free-range eggs, mushrooms, avocado and spinach. However, the reality is, most of us lack the time during the week. A well-made smoothie can be a great solution, providing us with a quick, convenient and nutritious breakfast ‘on the go’. Recipe

Serves one
Prep time: 5 minutes

(Vegan, GF, DF)

Ingredients

  • ½ small-medium avocado
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 big handful frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon almond/cashew butter
  • 1 tablespoon chia/flaxseeds
  • 1 rounded teaspoon of BioCare Multi NutriPowder
  • Plant milk of your choice (coconut or oat work well) – use as much as is needed to cover all the ingredients

Method

  1. Measure all ingredients directly into the jug of your smoothie machine.
  2. Blend for around a minute until completely smooth. Add a splash more plant milk if you prefer a runnier smoothie.
  3. Enjoy!
