What’s driving your PMS symptoms?

Sex hormone regulation is a cornerstone of our physiology, behaviour, and ability to reproduce and thrive. Hormone regulation is a complex process and has its own natural rhythm. Firstly, we need to be adequately nourished, with sufficient intake of good quality carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and different nutrients, such as vitamins B5, B6 and magnesium.

Once these hormones have been used, we need to efficiently eliminate them from the body to avoid accumulation which can contribute to hormonal symptoms, such as breast tenderness, low mood and heavy and painful periods. This is managed by a complex detoxification system, and specific processes of sulphation, glucuronidation, and methylation, which require different nutrients, including N-acetyl cysteine, methylfolate and B12, as well as antioxidants such as those found in green tea, broccoli, rosemary, or vitamins C & E.

Many factors from our modern lifestyles like stress, caffeine and alcohol intake, toxic load from the environment, high carbohydrate diet, nutrient insufficiencies, and genetic predispositions can lead to imbalanced hormone levels and the development of PMS symptoms.

This is why we’ve created a range of different supplements, and identified some key nutritional and lifestyle tips, to support all these areas to help you rebalance your hormones, menstrual cycle and reduce your PMS symptoms.
